2022 State Winner – Lindbergh High School
The Envirothon team from Lindbergh High School in St. Louis proudly represented Missouri in the 2022 NCF Envirothon held in Ohio in July of 2022. The Missouri team competed among top teams from the U.S. and Canada, and placed 11th out of 40 teams.
Lindbergh Envirothon Coach Barry Marquart said this team of five very different students “brought to the group their individual interests and ideas about natural resources and the environment, and then were able to come together as a real team to study real-life issues and discover possible solutions.” Marquart said he was only a little surprised when they placed first at the Missouri Envirothon the previous May, and then over-joyed with their placement at the national level. “They missed placement in the top ten (which receive awards and prizes) by only one place. I’m extremely proud of them.
The winning team members are Blake Burns, Raina Clements, Emma Schmidtt, Sophia Unzicker and Ava Wood.
